Tech Volleyball Eases By Iowa State 3-0

CARROLL, Iowa - Kelly Johnson tallied 20 kills to lead the Texas Tech Red Raiders to a three-game sweep of the Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday afternoon at the Carroll Gym in Carroll, Iowa.
With the win, Texas Tech improves to 17-11 overall and 8-9 in the Big 12 Conference while Iowa State falls to 4-20 overall and 1-17 in the league.
Tech came out sluggish in game-one but was able to win the game thanks to a late rally that gave the Red Raiders the 36-34 win. Texas Tech finally picked up the momentum and easily crusied to 30-22 and 30-19 wins in games two and three.
Kelly Johnson led Texas Tech with match-highs in kills (22) and digs (14) while senior setter Skydra Orzen put up a match-high 55 assists. The Red Raiders will take on No. 2 Nebraska at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Nebraska Coliseum in Lincoln.
