Cyclones Knock Down Red Raiders

AMES,Iowa - The Texas Tech softball team dropped a 6-1 decision to the Iowa State Cyclones in Ames this afternoon, bringing their record to 17-33 on the seaon and 6-9 in the Big 12. The loss gives the Red Raiders a split in the weekend series after a 3-2 victory over the Cyclones on Saturday.
Iowa State struck for three unearned runs in the second inning, aided by a pair of Texas Tech errors. The Cyclones continued to build their lead the following inning by adding an additional three runs to make the score 6-0.
Tech's bats managed only three hits in the contest and the only scoring came courtesy of Paula Workman, who hit a solo homerun in the seventh inning.
Tech will be back in action on Wednesday, May 3, when they travel to College Station and play Texas A&M in a doubleheader. The pair will be the final regular season games for Texas Tech befoire the Big 12 Tournament.
