Women's tennis falls to Kansas

LUBBOCK, Texas -
The Kansas women's tennis team defeated Texas Tech 7-2 in a match held Sunday at Texas Tech's Athletic Training Center.
The loss drops the Red Raiders Big 12 record to 2-4 (4-7 overall).
Alenka Ovin posted wins in singles play, with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Cheryl Mallaiah, and in doubles as Ovin and partner Ana Serrot defeated Mallaiah and Christi Walenaar of Kansas 8-4 in the day's final match.
Zana Zlebnik and Amanda Earhart of Texas Tech battled Brooke Chiller and Julia Sidorova in the top seeded matchup in doubles play, but the Kansas duo came out on top, 9-7.
The Red Raiders will be in action again on Wednesday, March 17 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, versus Southern Mississippi.
