Women's Tennis Earns 5-4 Win

LINCOLN, Neb. - Texas Tech's women's tennis team defeated No. 67 Nebraska 5-4 Sunday at the Woods Tennis Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Red Raiders move to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the Big 12.
Texas Tech won four of six singles matches, including three-set matches at No. 1 and No. 5 singles. Freshman Zana Zlebnik remained undefeated on the season, dropping the Huskers' Sandra Noetzel 6-3, 3-6, 6-1. Zlebnik, along with doubles partner Amanda Earhart, also claimed a victory, notching an 8-5 decision over Noetzel and Jennifer Thoste to improve to 6-0 this season.
Lakshmi Ravindra earned a win in the No. 3 singles after a 7-5, 6-4 victory over Jennifer Thoste, and Sharda Ravindra claimed the No. 4 spot, winning 7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-3). Taking home the win in the No. 5 singles was Tech's Christine Van Regenmorter, holding on at 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
The Red Raiders are back in action this weekend in Colorado. On Saturday, the squad plays Colorado State in Fort Collins, then heads to Boulder to play Colorado Sunday.
