Bio
PRIOR TO TEXAS TECH
- Played redshirt sophomore season at Washington State after transferring from Eastern Washington
- As a redshirt sophomore, he averaged 13.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game with nine double-doubles and one triple-double as a starter in all 34 games for the Cougars
- After redshirting his first year, Watts earned Big Sky Freshman of the Year at Eastern Washington during the 2023-24 season where he averaged 9.4 points per game on 123-for-201 (61.2 percent) shooting from the field
- Added 4.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 12 blocked shots during that freshman season which began with a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double at Utah in his first collegiate game
- Earned All-WCC Honorable Mention selection last season for Washington State after ranking in the top 15 in scoring, rebounding and assists in the WCC
- Recorded a triple-double with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists at Santa Clara and scored a season-high 24 points against San Francisco after going 11-of-13 from the free-throw line along with adding 12 rebounds and five assists
- Scored 20-plus points in five games, including the final two with 20 points against San Francisco in the WCC Basketball Championship quarterfinals and then with 22 points and eight rebounds against Georgetown in the first round of the College Basketball Crown
- Produced a season-best 14 rebounds against Idaho in a game where he added 16 points and had a career-high 10 assists. For the season, he finished with 149 total assists, 466 points and 228 rebounds
- Comes into the 2025-26 at Texas Tech with 768 points, 385 rebounds, 203 assists and 10 double-doubles through 66 career games played
- A Fresno, California native, he played at Bullard High School where he was a two-time all-conference player who averaged 18 points per game as a senior
- His late father, Walter Watts, played at Utah under head coach Rick Majerus and helped the Utes to the 1991 Sweet 16
