Tech cross country opens the season in Stillwater

The cross country team will open the season at the Cowboy Preview
LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech cross country team will open the 2026 season Saturday morning running in the Cowboy Preview at Greiner Family OSU Cross Country Course.
The men's 5k race will kickoff the meet starting at 7:45 a.m. with the women's 3k race starting immediately after. The teams in the field this weekend consist of Oklahoma State and Tulsa.
Titus Kimaru and Lily Mather headline the list of returners for Tech this season. In his first cross country season last year, Kimaru placed 11th at the Big 12 Championships before securing his spot at nationals at the regional meet with a ninth-place finish. At the NCAA Championships, Kimaru finished 40th to secure All-American honors (top-40). Mather finished 29th at the Big 12 meet and placed 24th at the region race to punch her ticket nationals before going on to place 176th.
