Tadlock names Jacob Evans Director of Pitching Development

Evans was a former Sixth Round Pick of the St. Louis Cardinals and has worked at Central Oklahoma and the University of Oklahoma
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Baseball and head coach Tim Tadlock have announced the hire of former St. Louis Cardinals draftee Jacob Evans as the programs new Director of Pitching Development.
A native of Tulsa, Evans went 16-8 all-time with 17 career saves during his three-year career at Oklahoma. The lefty was drafted in the Sixth Round of the 2015 MLB Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals.
Evans was a Second Team All-Big 12 selection (2015) after going 6-1 with eight saves. He posted an ERA of 1.67 during his final season in Norman. Evans was a two-time Academic All-Big 12 Selection and is one of the three players in Oklahoma history to record 15+ wins and 15+ saves in his career.
Over his four-year professional career, Evans pitched to a 3.50 career ERA in 93 career appearances. He went 13-21 career with five saves and reached Double-AA in the Cardinals organization in 2018.
Since finishing his professional career, Evans has spent the last seven seasons working in college baseball with stops at Oklahoma as the assistant pitching coach and a two-year stint as the pitching coach at Central Oklahoma.
Evans has also spent the last four years working with PitchingWRX where he worked one-on-one as a consultant for professional, collegiate, high school and youth athletes.
A 2019 selection to the Broken Arrow High School Hall of Fame, Evans and his wife Lauren have one son, Anderson.
