HEADLINES IN 1-2-3:
* Texas Tech Baseball continues a busy five-game week this weekend when the Cowboys of Oklahoma State come to Lubbock for the first time since 2023. Tech and OSU did not meet in 2025 either in the regular season or B12 Tournament and the 2024 series was in Stillwater. Tech won 2-of-3 in the last series hosted at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park defeating OSU 8-7 in 10 innings and 12-1 in seven innings.Â
* Tech enters the weekend series with a bit of momentum after a perfect 2-0 start to the week that included a 13-3 run-rule win over Tarleton State on Tuesday and a 9-1 win at ACU on Wednesday. So far this week, CF Kyler Thompson has led the way for the Red Raiders as he's 5-for-7 with five runs scored and three stolen bases, while Linkin Garcia has also had a good week going 5-of-r9 with three runs scored and two RBIs including the game-clinching hit against TSU. Catcher Matt Quintanar drove in five on Wednesday night in Abilene including three on a first inning home run. So far this week the Red Raiders are hitting 30-for-70 (.422) and have struck out just nine times in 15 innings.
* On the mound against Tarleton and ACU, the Red Raiders have also been successful as nine different pitchers have combined to allow just four runs (three earned) in 16.0 innings pitched. The Red Raiders have whiffed 19 and allowed just two extra-base hits and four walks. Tech's two starting pitchers (Kaysen Raineri and Connor Shouse) combined to toss six innings of two-run ball (one earned) and struck out eight without a walk.
WEEKEND NOTES (OSU):
Â
STARTING TO ADD[Y] UPÂ
After appearing just once last season and taking a medical redshirt, second-year redshirt freshman Logan Addison continues to pitch well for the Red Raiders as the righty has now tossed 8.2 innings without allowing a run. On Sunday afternoon against Utah, Addison tossed 1.2 scoreless innings and allowed just one hit and one free pass on a hit-by-pitch. He struck out three batters and now lowered his ERA to 5.52 and his batting average against to .231. Addison has whiffed 17 batters and walked just four in 14.2 innings pitched. In Big 12 play, he has pitched to a 1.29 ERA and has struck out nine batters and walked just one. After allowing four runs against DBU back on Mar. 17, Addison has been solid over his last eight trips, as the righty has pitched a scoreless effort in seven of his last eight appearances and has allowed just one run in those eight appearances. After striking out two in a 1-2-3 inning against New Mexico, Addison allowed a solo home run in a one-inning appearance. The righty rebounded the following weekend by pitching two scoreless innings against Houston where he needed just 22 pitches to toss two scoreless innings. In the return contest at New Mexico, Addison needed just 10 pitches to toss a 1-2-3 inning in Albuquerque back on April 7. Last weekend against No. 17 WVU, Addison combined to toss two innings of scoreless, two-hit ball where he struck out four. Addison whiffed all four batters in the Friday contest against the Mountaineers. Addison also tossed a strong 10-pitch 1-2-3 inning on Wednesday night against UIW. In total, Addison has needed 11 pitches or fewer per inning in six of his last seven appearances. In Big 12 play, Addison has limited opposing batters to just four hits in seven innings pitched and a batting-average-against of just .160 over his six appearances.Â
HERE'S JONNY
After a tough luck appearance in the Friday night setback to No. 17 WVU (Apr. 10) reliever Jonny Lowe rebounded nicely Sunday, tossing 3.2 innings of perfect baseball. He needed just 44 pitches to retire all 11 batters with four coming via the strikeout. After entering with runners of first and second, Lowe coaxed a first pitch ground ball that was muffed at second base to load the bases. Showing the poise of a senior, Lowe rebounded nicely using a 5-3 double play two pitches later to strand the bases loaded. After struggling in his first season with the Scarlet and Black, Lowe has shined in 2026, pitching to a 3.91 ERA this season. After walking 13 batters in just 16 innings a season ago, Lowe has cut that number in half in nearly double the amount of innings, as he has issued just seven base-on-balls over his first 25.1 innings of work this season. Opposing batters are hitting just .255 against the Rockwall native. Lowe has pitched a scoreless appearance in four of his last five games pitched. The lone non-scoreless appearance in that stretch was the three-run, 1.2 inning outing against WVU. Lowe will take the ball on Friday afternoon for his second start of the season.Â

WEEKEND NOTES (OSU):
T-LO STAYED HOT
Entering the weekend series against needing just one game to reach 200 career and riding a six-game hit streak, Texas Tech senior Tracer Lopez had himself a strong weekend going 7-for-12 (almost was 8-for-11 but a fly ball that looked to be dropped in the outfield was ruled a catch on Sunday) with a double and a triple. Reaching the 200-game plateau after already reaching 210 hits, Lopez became just the fourth player in program history to reach 210 hits and 200 games played joining Assistant Coach Eric Gutierrez (264 hits in 244 games), Taylor Ashby (228 hits in 216 games) and Clint Bryant (341 hits in 240 games). After seeing his average dip to .307 after a 7-32 stretch (.219) from March 27 to April 7, Lopez is now 19 for his last 35 (.543) and has multiple hits in seven of his last nine overall. Lopez has raised his average from .307 to .358 over that span and now has a career-best 16 doubles after entering the season with 21 total doubles in three years. Lopez, who enrolled at Tech at the semester break in 2023 and before his senior season of high school baseball is now a career .296 hitter and has scored 162 career runs. He scored twice in the win over ACU moving his career total to 162, which places him solo 10th on the all-time runs scored list. He needs just three runs to tie Josh Bard for ninth all-time on the list at 165.     Â
HEATING BACK UP AT THE DISH
After reaching eight runs scored in a program record 15-straight games from Feb. 17 until March 14, and scoring at least five runs in 24-straight games (Feb. 17- Mar. 28) and 30-of-31 games, the Red Raiders had seen their bats cool off over the five game losing streak that began with the Sunday loss to WVU and continued with last week's 0-4 stretch against UIW and Utah. The stretch of the offense slowing down began in the victory over then No. 17 WVU in which Tech was held scoreless for the first six innings of play before scoring once in the seventh and three times in the eighth. After scoring just twice in the series finale against the Mountaineers, the Red Raiders scored eight times against UIW on Wednesday night before managing just eight total runs (three Friday, Two Saturday and Three Sunday) in the weekend series against Utah. The Red Raiders failed to score at least eight times once in the weekend series for the first time this season against the same opponent. After reaching eight runs in 27 of the first 36 games, Tech managed just the eight total runs in Salt Lake this past weekend. The Red Raiders for the series hit just .271 as a team and saw three players (Lopez, Hughes and Rusinek) combine for 16 of Tech's 26 hits. Tech had nine players record just two hits or fewer on the weekend including Caden Ferraro who took a rare 0-for-8 and Connor Shouse who just 1-for-12 with an RBI double on the weekend. After striking out just 242 times in 36 games (6.7 times per game) and walking 202 times (5.6 times per game), the Red Raiders walked just eight times in three games (2.67) and struck out 25 times (8.3 times per game). When you expand it out Tech recorded 9.4 percent of its strikeouts on the season this past season against Utah. So far this week in the wins over Tarleton State (Tuesday) and at ACU on Wednesday the Red Raiders have gone 30-of-70 and have scored 22 times including 13 in the Tuesday night win and nine in the Wednesday night win at ACU.

Â
HUUUUUGGGHESSSS
Rated as one of the countries premier bats in the 2026 MLB Draft, Texas Tech junior Logan Hughes continues to put up big numbers in a Red Raider uniform, as so far this season Hughes is hitting .355 with 11 home runs and 51 RBIs this season. Hughes is slugging an impressive .658 (team-best) and has recorded a team-best 40 walks to bring his on-base percentage to .495. In Tuesday's win over Tarleton, Hughes walked three times and hit a two-run home run to bring his career total through 93 games to 30. Hughes is a career .339 hitter in a Red Raider uniform and has hit 24 doubles, five triples, 30 home runs and driven in 108 runs.Â
STAND UP AND SHOUSE
Entering the game against Tarleton just 5 for his last 33 at the dish, Shouse went a much needed 3-for-5 in the win against the Texans with four RBIs and two doubles. Shouse, who leads the Red Raiders in RBIs at 54, also was the Red Raiders starting pitcher on Tuesday night in the win over ACU as Shouse pitched 2.0 scoreless innings and struck out three. Shouse has now whiffed 11 batters in just 6.1 innings pitched and has allowed just one run in his last five appearances and six innings pitch since allowing four runs against Vanderbilt on opening weekend.
