Lady Raiders host Oklahoma State, Kansas State

LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 34 Texas Tech Lady Raiders host the No. 28 Oklahoma State Cowgirls and the Kansas State Wildcats this weekend at the McLeod Tennis Center. Tech will face Oklahoma State on Friday at 4 p.m., then welcome Kansas State for a match on Sunday at 12 p.m.
Oklahoma State leads the all-time series against Texas Tech, 24-17, winning the last five meetings. Tech last defeated the Cowgirls by a 4-3 score on March 26, 2021. The Lady Raiders lead the Wildcats in the all-time series, 25-11. Tech is on a 17-match win streak dating back to 2011, winning the last meeting on March 9, 2024 by a 5-2 score.
Texas Tech (11-3, 2-0 Big 12) is coming off two road Big 12 wins. Tech defeated the Kasnas Jayhawks, 4-1, thanks to doubles wins by Yekaterina Dmitrichenko/Hailey Murphy and Ella Brownback/Polina Sleptsova. In singles, the Lady Raiders got wins from Brownback, Mariia Hlahola and Dmitrichenko to clinch the win. Texas Tech earned another conference win at Iowa State, 4-2. The Lady Raiders got a come-from-behind doubles point from Dmitrichenko/Murphy and Elena Daskalova/Hlahola. Then, Murphy, Hlahola and Havana Kadi sealed the victory in singles.
The Lady Raiders are led in dual singles wins by both Hlahola and Murphy with eight wins each. Murphy leads the way with five ranked wins and six victories coming at the top court. In dual doubles, the No. 55-ranked du of Dmitrichenko and Murphy lead the way with an 11-2 record, all coming at court one.
Scouting the Opponents
The No. 28-ranked Oklahoma State Cowgirls are 5-4 on the year and 2-0 in Big 12 play so far. The Cowgirls defeated Texas Tech in Lubbock on Jan. 24 to qualify for the ITA National Indoor Championships, where they beat Northwestern, but lost to NC State and Tennessee in close, 4-3, matches. Oklahoma State began conference play with two home wins over West Virginia, 6-1, and Cincinnati, 4-1. In dual singles, the Cowgirls are led by No. 53 Olivia Lincer, who is 7-1 at court one. No. 22 Rose Marie Nijkamp and No. 51 Lucia Peyre are just behind with four dual singles wins each. The No. 20 ranked duo of Nijkamp and Anastasiya Komar lead the team with a 6-1 dual record at the top court.
The Kansas State Wildcats are 4-4 overall and 1-1 in Big 12 play so far. The Wildcats got wins over West Virginia, No. 53 Minnesota, Old Dominion and Tulsa. Their four losses were against No. 21 Clemson, Arkansas, Wichita State and Cincinnati. K-State is led in dual doubles wins by the No. 45 pairing of Martaa Chogsomjav and Maralgoo Chogsomjav with a 5-1 record at court one. In dual singles, Maralgoo Chogsomjav leads the team with a 5-3 record at the top court.
