The Red Raiders look to become the first P4 team in the country to reach seven conference wins for the fourth-straight year
SALT LAKE CITY โ Fresh off a come-from-behind bounce back 2-1 win over No. 16 WVU, No. 14/15 Texas Tech returns to the Beehive State for a Sunday showdown at Utah. First touch from Ute Field is set for 1 p.m. (CT)/Noon (MT).
ย
Down 1-0 after conceding just six minutes in, Tech used a Kylie Bahr PK and a Taylor Zdrojewski header to reach 10 wins for the fourth-straight season and 13th time in 20 years.
ย
The win was Tech's 55th since the start of the 2023 season, that mark trails just Stanford (64), Florida State (59) and North Carolina (56) and was the Red Raiders 34th win in league play since 2022. Only Michigan State (37) has more in the Power Four over that span.
ย
Back in control of its destiny for the overall Big 12 title, Texas Tech, can clinch its second regular season crown since 2023 with wins in its remaining three contests (at Utah, Baylor and at Kansas).
ย
After seeing a 31-match unbeaten (24-0-7) streak snapped when scoring once in the 3-2 setback at BYU last Friday and a 56-match two-goal (54-0-2) stretch snapped, the Red Raiders bounced back with the 2-1 win to move to 10-1-4 on the season.

BY THE NUMBERS
55: One of the best and most consistent programs in the country the last four seasons, Tech enters the 10th week of the 2026 season sitting at 55-10-16 (.778) over the programs last 81 matches (since the start of the 2023 season). Only three schools nationally have more wins than Tech over that span: Stanford (64), Florida State (59), North Carolina (56). Tech leads the Big 12 over that span.
ย
34: Over the past four conference seasons (2022-26), Tech leadsย the Big 12 Conference in total wins (34), notching four more wins than third-place WVU (29) and three more than TCU (30). The Red Raiders are 34-4-11 (.823) in Big 12 play over that span (49ย matches) and are the only team in the Big 12 with three straight seven-plus win seasons. Tech's four losses in league play are also the fewest in the league, eightย clear of TCU's 12 losses. Only one school in the country has more wins: Michigan State (37).
ย
55: While putting the ball in the back of the net is the name of the game, scoring twice has been critical for the Red Raiders success as since the start of the 2022 season, the Red Raiders are now 55-1-2 when scoring two goals. When you expand that mark out to the beginning of the 2021 season, Tech is 64-3-2 when scoring twice in a match. Last Friday's loss at BYU snapped a 56-game unbeaten streak when scoring twice that dated back to a 2021 3-2 loss at Baylor (Sept. 3).
ย
LAST TIME OUT
Down 1-0 just under seven minutes in, No. 14/15 Texas Tech used a Kylie Bahr PK and a Taylor Zdrojewski header to defeat No. 16 West Virginia, 2-1 at the John Walker Soccer Complex Thursday night.
ย
After conceding first in the opening half for the first time this season, Texas Tech (10-1-4, 6-1-1 Big 12) equalized from the spot before heading home the eventual game-winner in the 56th minute on a driven header from the Big 12s co-leading scorer Zdrojewski.
ย
The goal for "Z" was her Big 12 co-leading 11th goal of the season, and her 37th career and ties her with her former teammate Ashleigh Williams for fourth on the all-time goal list.
Armed with the lead and the momentum, Tech held the nationally-ranked Mountaineers (9-3-2, 4-3-1 Big 12) to just two total shots in the second half, none of which landed on goal.
ย
Down a goal just six minutes and 11 seconds in after a rocketed free kick from WVU's Maya Leoni, the Red Raiders grew into the game, and ultimately equalized when Zdrojewski was chopped down in the middle of the Mountaineers 18-yard box for the foul that resulted in the game-tying PK.
ย
Shaking off a lengthy delay that exceeded five minutes after a VAR review/challenge, Bahr calmly stepped to the spot and rocketed a rising shot to her right for her third goal of the season.
ย
Tied at the break, the Red Raiders opened the second half on fire, recording six shots over the first four minutes and 52 seconds of the half. The final of the six shot flurry came from reserve Kaitlyn Giametta and was cleared off the line by the WVU backline for a team save.
Continuing to buzz, the Red Raiders struck just under a minute later when a short corner was cycled to holding midfielder Gianna Gregorie who played fellow midfielder Emma Torres wide.
Torres then swung a perfect ball that Zdrojewski was able to high point for her 12th career winner. Zdrojewski moved into solo fourth in all-time game-winners one match after moving to fourth in all-time points.
ย
Armed with the lead, the Red Raider backline led by Bahr and outside back Abbi Sine, salted away Tech's 10th win of the season and head coach Tom Stone's 235th career win.
After seeing its 30-match unbeaten streak when scoring snapped and a 56-match two-goal streak when scoring twice shattered six days ago in Provo, the Red Raiders returned to the win column to improve to 24-1-7 when scoring once, 55-1-2 when scoring twice and to 15-0-4 at Ft. Walker since 2024.
ย
The Red Raiders also improved to 19-0-5 in their last 24 contests in the State of Texas.
