Tech had the early lead in set three going up 12-10 to force a Knights timeout. Tech pushed that lead to 17-14 out of the media timeout and were hitting .346 in the set up to that point. Both teams traded 3-0 runs to put Tech back up 20-17 and force UCF to take its final timeout. The Knights would come out on top to secure their third-straight win, however, and complete the sweep.
