With a win the Red Raiders can become the only team in the country to record three road wins thus far
SAN FRANCISCO – Riding high after a dramatic 2-1 victory Thursday night at RV Santa Clara, No. 18 Texas Tech will look to close out another perfect 2-0-0 week on Sunday afternoon when they head to San Francisco.
First touch from Negoesco Stadium is set for 1 p.m. (CT)/11 a.m. (PT).
After racing out to an early 2-0 lead in the fourth minute on Thursday and enjoying a 2-0 lead at the break, the Red Raiders warded off a late charge from the Broncos who used a 49th minute goal to cut the Tech lead in half. In the win goalkeeper Faith Nguyen made five key saves to hold on for the win.

BY THE NUMBERS:
26: Boasting one of the nations top defensive units the last two seasons, the Red Raiders enter the 2025 season having recorded 26 clean sheets since the start of the 2023 season. After recording 13 total shutouts in 23 matches in 2023, the Red Raiders followed it up with 12 shutouts in 22 matches in 2024. The Red Raiders are 32-2-6 the last two seasons when allowing a goal or fewer (losses to UT 1-0 in 2023 and to UNC 1-0 in 2023). Tech was 15-0-2 last season when allowing a goal or fewer.
2: While putting the ball in the back of the net is the name of the game, scoring twice has been critical for the Red Raiders success as since the start of the 2022 season, the Red Raiders are now 37-0-1 (lone tie at No. 7 BYU in 2023) when scoring two goals. When you expand that mark out to the beginning of the 2021 season, Tech is 46-2-1 when scoring twice in a match.
19: Texas Tech forward Peyton Parsons was credited with a goal just 19 seconds into Thursday's match at Santa Clara. The goal is the second-fastest goal in recorded (1999) program history trailing just a 12 second strike by Brittney Harrison in the 2008 season against Alabama A&M.
QUICK KICKS:
• Fresh off an exciting 2-1 victory over RV Santa Clara, No. 18 Texas Tech returns to the pitch on Sunday afternoon for a clash with another WCC foe in San Francisco. The match will mark the end of a three-match California swing for the Red Raiders who opened the 2025 season at San Diego State.
• Unfazed by the road the last three seasons the Red Raiders are 10-4-4 overall on the road (including the NCAA Tournament loss at No. 1 Duke last season and the 2023 Big 12 Semifinal loss at Texas) and are 10-2-4 in the regular season on the road since the start of the 2023 season.
• The Red Raiders will put a six-match winning streak and a seven-match unbeaten streak on the line. Tech's six-match road winning streak started after a draw at TCU to open Big 12 play last Sept. 12, while the road unbeaten streak spans nearly a calendar year after a 2-0 loss to Utah State last Aug. 25.
• The Red Raiders two road matches this weekend continues a stretch of a three of the first four contests away from Walker and a span of four of six on the road including road contests against New Mexico State (Sept. 4). The Red Raiders play just three of their first eight contests at home (SMU on Aug. 28 and Utah State on Sept. 14).
• Sitting at 3-0-0 for the first time since 2018, the Red Raiders will look to move to 4-0-0 on Sunday with a victory and will look to notch their third road win of the season. The Red Raiders enter play this weekend as one of eight teams in the country that are a perfect 2-0-0 on the road this season.Â
• Of the eight teams around the country that enter the weekend 2-0-0 on the road this season, five play at home (Marquette, UNCW, Illinois, North Dakota and Lindenwood) while TCU is off. Rhode Island is the only other D1 squad this weekend that can get to 3-0-0 on the road this weekend as the Rams will make the short trip across I-95 (30 miles) to face in-state rival Brown.
• Tennessee who plays Saturday night at LMU, has the chance to join the teams listed above at 2-0-0 on the road with a win. After scoring twice in the first three minutes and 35 seconds of Thursday's match, the Red Raiders recorded the third-straight match with a pair of goals in a five-minute span. After scoring 45 seconds into the eighth minute on Sunday, Tech scored two seconds into the 11th minute in the win over YSU. That streak also includes goals in the fourth and seventh minutes in the win against SDSU last Thursday.
