Lady Raiders host Colorado for senior day

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders host the Colorado Buffaloes for senior day on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the United Supermarkets Arena. Texas Tech leads the all-time series against Colorado, 18-6. However, the Buffs defeated the Lady Raiders on February 2 in Boulder by a 67-51 score.
Sophomore Loghan Johnson had an impressive game for the Lady Raiders (14-16, 3-14 Big 12) against Arizona on Tuesday. In the game, the Houston native led the team in points for the first time in her career with 14, while going 6-for-10 from the field and adding five rebounds and a team-best two steals. Johnson totaled her fifth double-figure performance, second five-plus rebound game and fifth game with two-plus steals on the year.
In the past three games, Jasmine Shavers has made 13 three-pointers to lead the team in that category. Shooting 13-for-29 from behind the arc (.448), Shavers has made 56.5 percent of the team's 3-pointers over the last three games as the Lady Raiders have gone 23-for-75 behind the arc. This year, Shavers has recorded a team-best 26 double-figure scoring games (out of a possible 30) with 14 of those coming during Big 12 play.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
The Colorado Buffaloes (18-10, 9-8 Big 12) have recently defeated Arizona State, 89-54, as well as Houston, 83-60. Their last two losses came against Oklahoma State, 65-82, and Baylor, 62-84. The Buffs are averaging 69.1 points per game and only allowing opponents to score just 65.0 points per game. Shooting 46 percent from the field, Colorado is averaging 36.8 rebounds per game and 16.5 assists per game. Colorado is led in scoring by three players – Frida Formann (12.5), Jade Masogayo (12.1) and Lior Garzon (10.4). On the rebounding side, Sara-Rose Smith leads the team with 5.8 boards per game, followed by Masogayo with 4.9.
