TUCSON, Ariz. – Despite three different Lady Raiders scoring in double figures, Texas Tech would fall to the Arizona Wildcats, 66-57, on Tuesday evening at the McKale Center.
Loghan Johnson (14), Jasmine Shavers (13) and Bailey Maupin (13) all had double-figure scoring games for Texas Tech (14-16, 3-14Â Big 12), with Shavers recording her team-leading 26th double-figure performance this season, Maupin totaling her 21st and Johnson tallying her fifth this year.

Leading the team in boards on the night was Denae Fritz, who had a season-high of eight while adding a team-best of two blocks.
Arizona began the scoring to open the game, then Sarengbe Sanogo tied it with a bucket thanks to a dish from Shavers in the paint. Sanogo followed with a free throw as Tech held a slim 3-2 lead with 7:17 left. Sanogo was on fire in the first, scoring five of the first six Tech points and getting a block as well. The two teams traded points and had stellar defense as Arizona would lead 13-12 at the end of the period.
Maupin scored a last-second floater to begin the second quarter, but Arizona made a layup right after. Tech took a 16-15 lead when Johnson made a layup. The Wildcats retook the lead with a 3-pointer before Maupin nailed another jumper to tie it at 18-all with 6:45 left. Johnson tied the game with an and-one bucket to make it 20-20, then gave the Lady Raiders the lead with a made free throw to follow. Arizona made a field goal at 4:14, then were held to just free throws the rest of the way as the Wildcats had the 25-24 advantage at the half.
Shavers got a steal and a fastbreak layup at the start of the third quarter, but Arizona went on a 7-0 run to take the 32-26 lead heading into the media timeout. Tech would get a three to answer from Fritz to make it 32-29 with 6:19 left. The Lady Raiders would force an Arizona turnover and capitalize on it with a corner three by Shavers. But, the Wildcats scored the next six points for the 40-32 lead. Shavers stopped their run with a second-chance three, but then Arizona responded with one of their own right after to close out the period with an eight-point advantage.
Tech went on a 4-0 run to open the fourth quarter thanks to baskets from Maupin and Johnson to cut the deficit to four. Both teams went back-and-forth over the next few minutes until Arizona scored eight of the next 10 points to lead 53-43 with 5:06 left in the game. Johnson stopped the run with a strong finish to the basket, but Arizona scored on its next possession to maintain the 10-point lead. Shavers answered with another tough layup, then the Wildcats hit a three. Johnson drew another and-one and converted the three points successfully to make it 58-50. She then recorded a couple of steals after this to help the Lady Raiders go on an 8-2 run.
