
Kipchoge wins the NCAA Mountain Region

Three Red Raiders secured their spots in next week’s national meet
RENO, Nev. – Solomon Kipchoge claimed the men's NCAA Mountain Region race with a 10k time of 28:55.9 as he secured his spot in next week's NCAA Cross Country Championship.
Kipchoge becomes the second Red Raider in the men's program history to win the Mountain Region race and first since Kennedy Kithuka (2012, 2013).

Ernest Cheruiyot finished third with a time of 29:17.6 also securing his spot for next week as one of the top individual placers today. Over on the women's side, Juliet Cherubet will also be making her second-straight trip to nationals next week as she finished second overall today with a 6k time of 19:44.6.
The first four regional finishers not from an automatic qualifying or at-large team secure an auto-bid to the championships. While the at-large teams won't be decided until the selection show tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at 4 p.m. on NCAA.com.
Overall, the women's team placed 8th with a scoring of 2-19-42-76-86
