Wallin records ranked win at ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. – Senior Olle Wallin posted a top-50 win at the ITA All-American Championships as he concluded play on Friday morning.
The No. 30-ranked Red Raider started out in the main draw of the tournament, taking on No. 55 Youcef Rihane of Florida State in the first round. Wallin dropped the first set, 6-1, before coming back to even things up with a 6-4 second set win. The Seminole was able to pull through, however, and took the match from Wallin with a 6-4 third set.
Moving on to the consolation draw, Wallin had another tall task ahead as he was set to take on No. 45-ranked Jonah Braswell of Texas. The Red Raider recorded a 6-3 first set before falling in the second, 3-6.
The two went back-and-forth in the final set, heading to a breaker. Wallin would hold the momentum and pick up the win with a 7-6 (4) tiebreak score to advance to the Round of 16 in the consolation draw.
Up next, the Red Raiders compete at the ITA Texas Regionals in Fort Worth on Oct. 19-24.
