Tech welcomes Sam Houston Tuesday for an 11:30 a.m. contest
LUBBOCK, Texas –The Texas Tech Lady Raiders return to action on Tuesday when they welcome Sam Houston for an 11:30 a.m. tip.
Winners of six straight, the game closes out a busy week for Texas Tech (7-1), as the contest is the final game of a three-game in six-day stretch.
Following the busy stretch that also amounted to five games in 11 days, the Lady Raiders will take the eight days off to focus on finals.

Powered by a 27-point first quarter, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders rolled past UIW, 66-48 Sunday afternoon at United Supermarkets Arena.
With the win, Texas Tech (7-1) has now won six straight games for the first time since the 2019-20 season. The 7-1 start is also the best record that the Lady Raiders have had through eight games since starting 8-0 in the aforementioned 2019-20 season.
Freshman Bailey Maupin narrowly missed her first career double-double Sunday, scoring 11 points and grabbing eight rebounds while senior Bryn Gerlich scored 10 points to reach the 500- point mark.
Other standout performances included eight points and seven rebounds from both freshman Jasmine Shavers and senior Ella Tofaeono.
For the second straight game, the Lady Raiders forced 22 turnovers, turning those into 27 points.

•Sam Houston enters Tuesday's matchup at 3-4 overall after defeating Florida A&M back on Saturday. In that game, Sam Houston overcame a four-point deficit at half to pull out the 70-62 victory.
• So far this season Sam Houston are averaging 69.0 a game, led by Nichols State transfer Chyna Allen who is averaging 16.3 points on 44.0 percent shooting. Allen has shot 23-of-25 from the free throw line (92.0 percent) and has scored at least 10 points in five of six games this season. Allen scored 23 points against FAMU on Saturday.
• Ranked fourth in the country in rebounding, Sam Houston heads to Lubbock averaging 45.7 rebounds a game this season. In total, five BearKats are averaging at least 3.5 rebounds a game led by Madelyn Batista. Batista is averaging 9.0 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals a game.
• As a team, Sam Houston has grabbed 130 offensive rebounds (18.6/game). Four Kats have at least 30 rebounds this season.
• Sam Houston has played a pair of Power Five opponents this season in Auburn and TCU. After losing the season opener at Auburn 90-76, the Kats were able to defeat TCU 60-54 back on Nov. 23. In the game against TCU four players reached double figures led by Chyna Allen's 16 points.
