
Lady Raider Tennis Falls at No. 12 Oklahoma State

STILLWATER, Okla. – The Texas Tech women's tennis team fell, 4-1, at No. 12 Oklahoma State on Friday night at the Greenwood Tennis Center.

The match opened in doubles, where Oklahoma State picked up an early, 1-0 lead with wins on courts one and two. Tech's Bojana Marinkov and Olivia Peet fell, 6-2, on court one to fifth-ranked Lisa Marie Rioux and Ayumi Mayamoto, before Lisa Mays and Margarita Skriabina fell to Lenka Stara and Bunyawi Thamchaiwat, 6-3, on two to clinch the point.

Lady Raiders Reagan Collins and Nell Miller led, 4-3, at No. 3 when doubles play was suspended.

In singles play, reigning Big 12 Player of the Week Nell Miller tied the match up quickly with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Alana Wolfberg on court four. It marked Miller's third-straight win and moved her to 14-9 this season and 9-2 in dual play.

Oklahoma State was able to rattle off three-straight wins to close out the match. No. 23 Thamchaiwat handed Tech's Skriabina her first loss in six matches with a 6-2, 6-1 win on court two, and No. 63 Ayumi Miyamoto defeated Lisa Mays, 6-4, 6-4, on court three.

Lenka Stara defeated Isa Di Laura, 6-4, 7-5, on court six to clinch the match. As the match was ceded, Olivia Peet was tied, 4-4, in the second set with No. 49 Lisa Marie Rioux, and Bojana Marinkov was tied, 5-5, in the second set with Dariya Dekovskaya.

The Lady Raiders will be back in action on Sunday at 2 p.m. when they travel to Norman, Okla., to take on Oklahoma.
