
Tadlock Inducted into Grayson College Hall of Fame

Head Coach Tim Tadlock led Grayson to two National Titles during his tenure from 1997-2005.
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech head baseball coach Tim Tadlock has been elected to the first class of inductees for the Grayson College Hall of Fame, Grayson announced during a press conference on Wednesday.

This is the inaugural Hall of Fame class for Grayson, which also inducted Baylor women's basketball associate head coach Bill Brock as the first ever honorees. The coaches, chosen based on outstanding achievement during their time at the college and their overall career success, will be recognized during a formal celebration on Nov. 8 during Grayson's homecoming week.

Tadlock, who spent nine seasons as head coach at Grayson County Junior College (1997-2005), compiled an overall record of 435-127 (.774) and led the Vikings to back-to-back National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) World Series titles in 1999 and 2000. Tadlock was named the NJCAA National Coach of the Year following both title runs.

Tadlock has led the Red Raiders to new heights in his seven seasons on the South Plains. Under his leadership, the Red Raiders have won 45+ games five times, advanced to four College World Series and won three Big 12 titles.

Tadlock owns a 285-152 record at Texas Tech after his 2019 squad went 46-20, won the Big 12 Championship and finished at No. 4 in the polls following its deepest CWS run to date.

In addition to his coaching accolades at Grayson, Tadlock has twice been named National Coach of the Year at Texas Tech. He was first honored in 2014 as the College Baseball Hall of Fame National Coach of the Year after taking Texas Tech to its first CWS in program history. He was named D1 Baseball National Coach of the Year in 2018 after Tech's third CWS appearance in five seasons.

With three Big 12 titles in the last four years, Tadlock has been recognized regionally as the American Baseball Coaches Association/Diamond Coach of the Year award three straight years and the Big 12 Coach of the Year in 2016.

The Red Raiders have had 48 Major League Baseball Draft selections under Tadlock's guidance. He had 11 players drafted in 2018 to set a school record. In 2019, junior Josh Jung was selected with the No. 8 overall pick to become Texas Tech's second first-round draft pick in program history.

Tadlock has coached 51 All-Big 12 selections, 24 All-Big 12 First Team picks, nine All-Americans, 11 freshman All-Americans, five Dick Howser Trophy semifinalists, three Big 12 Player of the Year award winners, a College Baseball Foundational National Pitcher of the Year, two Bobby Bragan Collegiate Slugger Award recipients and two NCAA Elite 90 award winners.
