Texas Tech moves to 10-2 on the season, swept last five matches
LUBBOCK, Texas – The No. 9/6 Lady Raiders captured their fifth straight sweep with a 7-0 win over Cornell on Friday.
Texas Tech (10-2) captured the doubles point with wins on courts two and three. No. 54 Felicity Maltby and Gabriela Talaba earned their 10th win of the season with a 6-1 victory just before Lana Rush and Alex Valenstein clinched the point with a 6-2 win, marking their fourth doubles point clinch of the season.
Talaba earned her seventh win of the season with a 6-0, 6-0 decision on court one. Maltby gave the Lady Raiders a 3-0 lead with her 6-1, 6-1 win on court two just before Sarah Dvorak clinched the match with a straight set victory (6-3, 6-0) on court five.
Tech and Cornell decided to play out the rest of the matches. All three remaining Lady Raiders clinched wins in straight sets.
UP NEXT
The Lady Raiders return to the courts on Sunday to host No. 6 Georgia Tech. First serve is set for 10 a.m. at the McLeod Tennis Center.
