Men’s Tennis Tuck Away Four Singles Wins on Final Day of Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational

The Red Raiders posted a perfect 4-0 singles record in consolation action to conclude the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational.
MIDLAND, Texas – The Texas Tech men's tennis team collected four singles wins Sunday to wrap up the Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational in Midland, Texas.
Ronit Bisht, Jackson Cobb and Carlos DiLaura each grinded out three-set victories. Bisht upended Utah State's Jack Swindells by a 6-2, 0-6, 6-4 margin, and DiLaura defeated Utah State's Kai Wehnelt by a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 decision. Cobb picked up a comeback 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 (15-13) win against Michael Durham of Auburn.
Nikolas Moceanu concluded the weekend with his third consecutive singles win and dialed up an efficient 6-3, 6-3 triumph over Auburn's Max Sivalls.
In doubles, Bisht and DiLaura were handed an 8-4 defeat by Jake Hansen and Eric Rutledge of Rice during the semifinal round.
"Ronit and Carlos didn't take their chances early in their doubles match, and that was what really cost them," Texas Tech assistant coach Jordan Szabo said. "We need to get better at the little things in our doubles play. Everybody getting a win in singles on the final day was fantastic for us to show resilience and the ability to rebound which will give us added confidence that can hopefully springboard us to perform at a high level next weekend."
Texas Tech returns to action at the Southern Intercollegiates hosted by the University of Georgia and John Breaux Cajun Tennis Classic hosted by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette next weekend.
