Texas Tech’s Parker Mushinski and Jacob Patterson will play in the CCL All-Star Game on Wednesday
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech sophomore left-handed pitchers Parker Mushinski and Jacob Patterson were both recently selected to participate in the 2016 California Collegiate League All-Star Game and Prospect Showcase.
Â
Mushinski, a member of the San Luis Obispo Blues, and Patterson, who plays for the Conejo Oaks, are two of 54 players chosen to compete Wednesday night at the MLB Urban Youth Academy in Compton, California. First pitch is slated for 9 p.m. CT on FOX Sports West.
Â
The pair of southpaws will be on separate teams Wednesday night as Patterson was named to the CCL South squad while Mushinski will be in the CCL North bullpen. The two teams were selected by the CCL head coaches.
Â
Mushinski joined the Blues roster shortly after Texas Tech's return from the College World Series in Omaha. Since then, he is 1-0 with a perfect 0.00 earned-run average after allowing just an unearned over his 10.0 complete innings out of the bullpen. He's appeared five times so far for the Blues, collecting a save while striking out an impressive 19 hitters in the span.
Â
Patterson, meanwhile, boasts a similar 1-0 record since his arrival in California as he has made three appearances, including one start, for the Oaks. Patterson has compiled a 3.37 ERA over his eight complete innings where he has struck out seven hitters while allowing just six hits.
Â
Patterson is joined on the Oaks roster by freshman outfielder Cody Farhat. The Red Raiders have four returning players who are participating in the CCL this summer as freshman right-handed pitcher Ryan Shetter is also with the Santa Barbara Foresters.
