Cailleau of Men’s Tennis Wins Consolation Match at USTA/ITA National Indoors

Jolan Cailleau plays Saturday in consolation quarterfinals.
FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. – The Texas Tech men's tennis team remained alive in the 2016 USTA/ITA National Indoor Championships as Jolan Cailleau secured a 6-2, 6-2 victory Friday at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in the New York.
Cailleau, playing in the consolation bracket Round of 16, turned in the straight set victory against Oliver Frank of Azusa Pacific. The victory upped Cailleau's fall record to 11-4 as the Belgium native will faces Stanford's No. 6 Tom Fawcett in the consolation quarterfinals at 8 a.m. CT on Saturday. If Cailleau wins, he will face the winner of Florida's Alfredo Perez or Texas' Christian Sigsgaard later that afternoon.
"Jolan played a great, clean match," Texas Tech assistant coach Jordan Szabo said. "I thought he adapted better to the indoor conditions and played impressive, aggressive tennis. It will be another tough matchup tomorrow, but I expect Jo to come out and put in another quality performance like he always does."
