Cailleau of Men’s Tennis Concludes Fall Season at USTA/ITA National Indoors

FLUSHING MEADOWS, N.Y. – Jolan Cailleau of the Texas Tech men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought 7-6 (6), 6-3 decision to Stanford's Tom Fawcett during the consolation quarterfinals Saturday at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in the New York.
Cailleau capped a strong fall season with an 11-5 record with four of his setbacks coming against fellow ranked opponents. Fawcett entered today's match ranked No. 6 in the nation.
Texas Tech has completed its fall season and returns to action with matches versus Arizona, New Mexico and UCF on January 13-14 in Orlando.
"It was a tight match that could have gone either way," Texas Tech assistant coach Jordan Szabo said. "For the most part, Jolan played a good match. He just failed to execute in the big moments as well as his opponent today. This was a great experience in New York which will undoubtedly help him in the upcoming spring."
