Five-star recruit joins Lady Raiders 2017 signing class
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Women's Tennis Head Coach Todd Petty announced the signing of Alex Angyalosy to the class of 2017 Thursday morning.
"Alex has the potential to be an extremely physical player," Petty said. "Her athleticism is the first thing that sticks out when you see her play. She has great court coverage and moves extremely well on the court. She is a very emotional player and plays with an edge. That is something we are excited to have here inject into this program right away. "
Angyalosy is a five-star senior from Boca Raton, Fla. She is in the top 15 tennis players in the southeast and ranked no. 11 in the state of Florida on the Babolat recruiting lists. Angyalosy has received a ranking as high as 41 by TennisRecruiting.net and ranked as high as 314 in the world on the Junior ITF Rankings.
She has boasted a 40-31 record and has two ITF Junior titles and advanced to the final match of a third.
"Along with all of her accomplishments, she is a straight A, honors student who wants to go to medical school. She has a great head on her shoulders and will be a great addition to our program," Petty said.
