Curry Splits His Matches for Men’s Tennis at Saint Francis/ITA All-American Championships

The Red Raiders will have four singles players and two doubles teams in the qualifying draw on Monday.

TULSA, Okla. – Connor Curry split his matches on day two of prequalifying at the Saint Francis/ITA All-American Championships Sunday from the Case Tennis Center hosted by the University of Tulsa.

Curry extended his fall winning streak to seven consecutive matches with an impressive 6-3, 6-0 triumph over Joe Wooley of Utah. He claimed the opening set and was up a break before Lamar's Michael Feunct responded for a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 decision.
"Connor played extremely solid against Utah to come away with another convincing win," Texas Tech assistant coach Jordan Szabo said. "In the second match of the day, Connor had his opponent on the ropes up a set and a break but didn't capitalize on his chances. This will be a valuable learning experience for Connor moving towards the spring."

The Red Raiders return to action with a quartet of singles players and pair of doubles tandems Monday in the qualifying draw of the ITA All-American Championships. Singles players will have to win three rounds whereas doubles teams will have to collect two victories to qualify for the main draw.
