
Kiro, Kilgo Start Season Ranked

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior Kenna Kilgo and sophomore Lynn Kiro picked up preseason singles ratings and invitations to the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
Kilgo, a native of Crawford, Texas, enters the season ranked No. 113 and now appeared in the ITA preseason rankings for three consecutive seasons. Kilgo is in her fourth season as a Lady Raider and has a career record of 66-41 in singles and 73-30 in doubles. Kilgo was ranked as high as No. 58 last season, while playing No. 1 for the Lady Raiders. She is making her third appearance in the prestigious event.
Kiro, a sophomore from Capetown, South Africa, enters the season ranked No. 83. Kiro will be looking to build off of last season's success, as she set a modern day school record for wins with 29, as well as establishing a school record for consecutive matches won at 16 straight - a streak that is still active. Her last loss was on Feb. 16 against New Mexico's Meredith Hopson, 3-6, 6-2. Kiro was ranked as high as No. 92 last season and closed out the year ranked No. 115. Kiro is making her first appearance at the All-American.
Kilgo and Kiro are the 13th and 14th invitations earned by Lady Raiders in the Todd Petty Era, which began in the fall of 2008. Prior to his arrival, the program had earned just seven invitations to the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships, an event that began in 1983. The duo has solidified a pair of spots in the prequalifying singles segment of the event. Kiro is also listed as an alternate for advancement into the qualifying round. Play will begin Sept. 27
The No. 30 Lady Raiders begin the 2014-15 season this weekend at the Midland Racquet Club Collegiate Invitational held at the Midland Racquet Club.

Kenna Kilgo will make her third straight appearance at the Riviera/ITA All-American in Pacific Palisades, California.
