Withrow Named No. 9 Prospect in California League

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech junior right-handed pitcher Matt Withrow has been named the No. 9 prospect from the California Collegiate League by Baseball America.
Withrow helped the Santa Barbara Foresters to their fifth National Baseball Congress World Series title during the last five years while allowing just one earned run over 16 innings during the summer season. The Foresters finished the season with a 41-17 overall record.
Withrow ranked among team leaders with four saves with a 0.56 ERA while recording 21 strikeouts and allowing only seven walks.
In two seasons as a Red Raider, Withrow is 8-6 with a 5.80 ERA in 28 appearances and 20 starts with 94.2 innings pitched. He has tallied 94 strikeouts and allowed 57 walks allowing opponents a .277 batting average.
