Artac Wins West Texas Amateur

Incoming freshman Wes Artac shot a 1-under, 70 in the final round of the West Texas Amateur Championship last weekend at Wichita Falls Country Club to take home medalist honors.
Artac, a product of Kingwood, will join the men's golf team at Texas Tech as a true freshman this fall.
Artac finished with 206 strokes in the 54-hole championship while amassing 15 birdies and just eight bogeys.
The men's golf team will open their 2014-15 season on Labor Day weekend in the Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach.
