TEXAS TECH REACHES "MAGIC NUMBER" 38
- During the Big 12 era (1997-Present) there have been 66 teams in the conference that have won 38 games in a season - all 66 teams have advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The Red Raiders captured win No. 38 tonight... Texas Tech is looking to advance to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a decade with its last appearance in 2004.
TEXAS TECH IMPROVES TO 5-7 IN EXTRA-INNING BIG 12 SERIES OPENERS (5-2 AT HOME)
- Texas Tech played in its 12th Big 12 Conference series opener that went into extra-innings. Tech has now won five series openers that have gone into extras including three in a row dating back to 2011. The Red Raiders have ended up winning five Big 12 series when winning the opener in extra-innings.
