NORMAN, Okla. -- Texas Tech redshirt freshman Ivonne CookTaylor scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds but the Lady Raiders could not overcome their early struggles from the floor as Oklahoma left with a 87-32 win on Monday at Lloyd Noble Center.
Tech (6-23, 0-18 Big 12) shot just 20 percent from the floor (12 of 58) while Oklahoma (18-13, 9-9) hit 31 of 64 including 15 of 29 from beyond the arc.
CookTaylor got off to a hot start early and scored four points in the opening minutes to help give Tech a 6-3 lead. But that was the only time the Lady Raiders would get any lead as the Sooners would go on a 29-7 run over the next 10 minutes and take a 36-17 lead into the break.
OU used the 3-point ball to break open the game and expand its lead throughout the second half.
CookTaylor scored in double digits for the fourth consecutive game and is now averaging 13 points per game over the last four contests. She averaged just 4.6 points per game prior to her streak.
The Lady Raiders will be the No. 10 seed in the Big 12 Conference Tournament when it begins on Friday and will play in the 8:30 p.m. game against the No. 7 seed. The final bracket and seedings will be released on Tuesday night following the end of the regular season games.
