Twenty Baseball Student-Athletes Earn Honor Roll

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech baseball program had 20 student-athletes named to the academic honor roll (3.0 GPA) while 10 Red Raiders posted at least a 3.5 grade point average and five Tech baseball student-athletes earned a perfect 4.0 GPA during the fall 2014 semester.
Junior catcher Tyler Floyd (Exercise and Sport Sciences), senior right-handed pitcher Heath Herrington (Exercise and Sport Sciences), sophomore infielder Ryan Long (Natural Resource Management), junior infielder/outfielder Landon Darwin (Energy Commerce) and freshman right-handed pitcher/outfielder Patrick Mahomes II (Finance) all earned a perfect 4.0 GPA.
"Our coaching staff and entire program are extremely proud of these individuals for taking care of business in the classroom during the fall semester," third-year head coach Tim Tadlock said. "Everyone in academic services deserves credit for our student-athletes' success. The resources they provide our student-athletes are second to none, and all of their work in the Marsha Sharp Center never goes overlooked."
Floyd has now recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA during all three of his semesters at Texas Tech. Herrington earned his fourth straight academic honor roll recognition while posting his second straight 4.0 GPA and has now collected dean's list honors three times. Long has earned honor roll recognition in all three semesters at Tech and has now recorded at least a 3.5 GPA in back-to-back semesters.
Junior right-handed pitcher Johnathon Tripp (Sociology) is a dean's list honoree while posting his fourth career academic honor roll semester.
Sophomore left-handed pitcher Dylan Dusek (Accounting) earned honor roll status for the third straight semester - spanning his Red Raider career.
Junior outfielder Zach Davis (Exercise and Sport Sciences) earned honor roll recognition for the fourth time during his five semesters as a Red Raider.
Junior right-handed pitcher Justin Bethard (Finance) recorded his third career academic honor roll recognition - including back-to-back semesters posting at least a 3.0 GPA. Senior right-handed pitcher Corey Taylor (General Studies) achieved academic honor roll status for the second straight semester while senior right-handed pitcher Dominic Moreno (Communication Studies) posted his first career honor roll recognition while earning dean's list honors.
Three Red Raiders earned their first academic honor roll recognition while achieving dean's list status, including freshman left-handed pitcher Jackson Lancaster (Petroleum Engineering), freshman left-handed pitcher Jacob Patterson (Electrical Engineering) and sophomore catcher Hunter Southerland (Energy Commerce).
Six Red Raiders also earned academic honor roll, including freshman infielder Michael Davis (Undeclared), freshman infielder Orlando Garcia (Pre-Engineering), junior catcher Nick Marshall (General Studies), junior infielder Cory Raley (University Studies), junior catcher Kholeton Sanchez (University Studies) and sophomore outfielder Stephen Smith (Undeclared).
