Road Ends For Soares, Dojas At All-American

Texas Tech's No. 35 Felipe Soares and Hugo Dojas fell to No. 6 Ashok Narayana and Max Schnur of Columbia.

TULSA, Okla. - Texas Tech's run at the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championship at the Case Tennis Center came to an end Friday, as the Red Raiders fell in both singles and doubles.
Felipe Soares, who is ranked No. 43 nationally, fell to USC's No. 39 Jonny Wang, 6-3, 6-3, in the Round of 32 of the All-American.
In doubles, Soares and Hugo Dojas, ranked No. 35, lost in three sets to the fifth-seeded and No. 6 Columbia tandem of Ashok Narayana and Max Schnur, 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-6) in the Sweet Sixteen.
Dojas and Soares played their way into the main draw and were one of just three qualifiers to advance to the Round of 16.
Overall, it was a successful run for Texas Tech, as Soares and Dojas went 4-1 in doubles at the All-American. Soares went 1-1 at the event, stunning No. 20 Mikelis Leibitis of Tennessee in the main draw Round of 64. Dojas went 1-1 during the qualifying portion of the event.
