IAAF Women's Long Jump Finals - Results
MOSCOW - Former Lady Raider Tori Polk turned in a top-10 finish today at the 2013 IAAF World Championships finishing eighth overall in the finals of the women's long jump.
Polk went 6.73-meters (22-feet 1 inch) on her fourth attempt of the day to finish eighth overall and second among U.S. athletes in the event. Polk earned the top-10 finish after finishing second overall in the qualifying round Saturday with a leap of 6.75-meters (22'-5.75").
Brittney Reese of Team USA won gold in the competition with a jump of 7.01-meters (23'-0") on her second attempt.
Polk qualified for Team USA in July after finishing second at the U.S. Championships in Des Moines with a personal-best performance where she went 6.80-meters (22'-3.75"). She currently holds the Texas Tech women's indoor long jump record and was a 2005 All-American in the event.
