• Oklahoma improved to 35-7 all-time against Texas Tech, including a 15-1 record when playing in Lubbock. It was Oklahoma third-straight win in the series as well as in games played at Rocky Johnson Field.
• The run-rule victory was the first for Oklahoma over Texas Tech since taking a 12-0 victory on March 10, 2009, in Lubbock.
• Oklahoma had not previously shutout the Red Raiders in back-to-back games since April 13-14, 2001, when the Sooners took 8-0 and 5-0 victories in Lubbock.
• With the loss, Texas Tech head coach Shanon Hays dropped to 3-7 all-time against Oklahoma.
TEXAS TECH TEAM NOTES
• The loss dropped the Red Raiders to 1-6 all-time against No. 1-ranked teams.
• The loss dropped the Red Raiders to 0-4 against ranked teams this season and 18-38 all-time under Shanon Hays.
• The Red Raiders were shut out for the fourth-consecutive game, their longest such streak since being held without a run over the final four games of the 2005 season (April 26-May 11).
• Texas Tech's losing streak is now at seven-straight games, the longest such run since also dropping seven-straight from April 13-25, 2009.
• Oklahoma starter Michelle Gascoigne was just the fifth left-handed starter to face Texas Tech this year. The Red Raiders are now 1-4 in those games.
• Texas Tech dropped to 7-7 in shutouts this year and 42-21 all-time under Shanon Hays.
• The loss dropped the Red Raiders to 9-8 this year at Rocky Johnson Field and 74-28 under Shanon Hays.
Katelyn Williams
• Williams matched her career high with three hits as she was 3-for-3 at the plate. She connected on a pair of doubles for only the second time in her career as it was also her team-leading 15th multiple-hit game this year.
• It marked the fifth time this year where a Red Raider had two or more doubles in a game and the first time since Mikey Kenney did so on March 13 against Fairfield.
