TEXAS TECH TEAM NOTES The match marked the first-ever between Texas Tech and TCU as Big 12 members in any sport.
Texas Tech was facing TCU for the sixth time in school history as the two schools are 3-3 all-time against each other.
The Horned Frogs have won each of the last three contests against Texas Tech.
TCU also now controls a 2-1 advantage all-time in matches played in Fort Worth.
The Red Raiders allowed the Horned Frogs to hit .327 overall, marking the second-straight match a Tech opponent has recorded a hitting percentage over .300.
Texas Tech failed to have a single player reach double digits in kills for only the second time this year. Emily Ehrle led the Red Raiders with nine kills on Sept. 7 against Towson in the only match this year.
The Red Raiders lost for the first time this season when leading in blocks as Texas Tech controlled a 7-5 advantage. Texas Tech was previously 9-0 this year when leading in the category.
Texas Tech's .106 hitting percentage marked its third-lowest of the season behind the .103 average against Cal State Northridge (Sept. 15) and the .080 mark against Kansas (Sept. 22).
Don Flora
The loss dropped second-year head coach Don Flora to 295-82 as a collegiate head coach and a 26-23 record while at Texas Tech.
The Red Raiders dropped to 1-17 under Flora against Big 12 opponents as well. Texas Tech is also 0-2 against TCU under Flora.
The loss dropped Texas Tech to 7-12 in true road matches under Flora.
The Red Raiders also fell to 14-10 in three-set matches under Flora as well.
Lydia McKay
McKay snapped a five-match streak where she reached double digits in kills. The freshman finished with four kills on the night to go along with a team-high .207 hitting percentage.
Emily Ehrle
Ehrle matched her season with four blocks against the Horned Frogs. The freshman also totaled four blocks against Boston College on Aug. 25.
