LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Lady Raider Tennis finished second nationally in average attendance for the 2011-12 season, as reported by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Big 12 Conference rival Texas A&M finished first nationally in women's tennis attendance, averaging 468 fans per match. Texas Tech was second with 349 fans per match, while Duke (337), Michigan (233) and Georgia (217) round out the top five.
The Lady Raiders, who won the 2012 Big 12 Conference regular season title, had a season-high 448 fans in attendance on Apr. 1, when No. 22 Texas Tech topped No. 47 Oklahoma, 5-2. That total ranks as the sixth highest women's tennis single match attendance in 2012.
