TEXAS TECH TEAM NOTES The match was the second all-time between Texas Tech and Central Arkansas and the first to be played in Conway.
The Red Raiders won last year's meeting between the two schools with a 3-0 victory during the Texas Tech Invitational in Lubbock.
Texas Tech picked up its seventh-straight loss and its third-straight to a non-conference opponent. The Red Raiders had not previously dropped three consecutive non-conference matches under head coach Don Flora.
Central Arkansas' eight aces matched the season high for a Texas Tech opponent that was set Sept. 19 at Nevada.
The Sugar Bears combined to hit .306 as a team, the highest hitting percentage for a Tech non-conference opponent this season. It was only the third time a Tech opponent has hit over .300 this year as well.
The Red Raiders' five aces, all coming from Emily Ruetter, marked the squad's most since also totaling five at Rice on Sept. 15.
Don Flora
The loss dropped second-year head coach Don Flora to 295-84 as a collegiate head coach and a 26-25 record while at Texas Tech.
The loss dropped the Red Raiders to 25-7 against non-conference foes under Flora.
The loss dropped the Texas Tech to 7-14 under Flora in true road matches.
Lydia McKay
McKay led the Red Raiders with 11 kills as the freshman was in double digits for the sixth time in her last eight matches. She also totaled a .458 hitting percentage, marking the fourth time she has hit over .400 this year.
Tory Vaughan
Vaughan notched a season-high 16 digs on the back row, snapping her previous mark of 14 against Boston College on Aug. 25. It was also the first time this year where the senior has led the Red Raiders in digs.
Miara Cave
Cave finished with 10 kills from the right side, marking her second-consecutive match in double digits and seventh time so far this season.
