LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head women's tennis coach Todd Petty announced the addition of Rashmi Teltumbde for the 2011-2012 season.
"We are excited about Rashmi joining the Texas Tech family," Petty said. "I believe her experience internationally and playing for a top 20 program will strengthen our depth. She has had some tremendous results in doubles and international play and someone who can come in immediately and make an impact for our team."
Last season playing at No. 11Virginia, Teltumbde was ranked in the top 25 in doubles play. She had an overall record of 19-7 in doubles. Her single record was 12-6 overall for the season.
Teltumbde was a member of India's Junior Fed Cup team and competed in the main draw at the 2010 Junior Australian Open. She has won several International Tennis Federation tournaments and won the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Atlantic Regional Championships in doubles with partner Maria Fuccillo.
