LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech softball signee Hannah Bell was named the MVP for the Texas Girls Coaches Association 4A-5A All-Star game that was played last Tuesday at McCombs Field in the state capital of Austin.
Bell drove in the game-winning run with a two-out single in the bottom of the sixth inning, breaking open a 2-2 tie to propel her East squad to the 4-2 victory. She scored on a later at-bat.
The Dayton, Texas native finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBIs, while also pitching two innings in the circle where she struck out three.
After wrapping her career at Dayton High School with another successful season, Bell was named to the TGCA 4A All-State team while also earning Co-MVP honors of District 19-4A. Bell is one of five future student-athletes who signed with Texas Tech last fall.
