Senior men's golfer Nils Floren picked up his third career All-American honor earlier today as he was named to the PING All-America Third-Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
The All-American honor is the second in the last two weeks for Floren as he picked up third team accolades earlier by Golfweek Magazine. It also marks the second-straight season for Floren to earn All-American honors from the GCAA as he was a first-team selection in 2010.
Floren led the Red Raiders to an NCAA Regional appearance and a fourth place finish at the 2011 Big 12 Championships. Texas Tech's regional bid marked its 10th-straight which is the second longest postseason streak on campus behind Red Raider football.
Floren tallied a 72.2 stroke average over the course of 11 tournaments while notching five Top 10 finishes, including the individual title at the UTSA/Oak Hills Invitational.
He and his brother Oscar, who lettered between 2004-07, account for six of Tech's eight individual All-American honors in school history.
