Floren, Smith Earn PING All-Region Honors

LUBBOCK, Texas - Seniors Nils Floren and Matt Smith have been named to the 2011 PING Central All-Region team following a successful season that earned Texas Tech its 10th consecutive bid to the NCAA Regionals.
Floren and Smith were one of 152 players named to the all-region teams and both are now eligible for All-America honors that will be announced following the conclusion of the NCAA Championships in Stillwater.
Floren and Smith led the Red Raiders this season with 72.2 and 72.6 respective stroke averages and helped guide Tech to a fourth place finish at the Big 12 Championships. Both players earned All-Big 12 honors in 2011 while Floren will be in search of his second consecutive All-America honor and Smith his first.
