
ADAMS NAMED ITA ROOKIE OF THE YEAR IN TEXAS REGION

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech freshman Samantha Adams was named the International Tennis Association's Rookie of the Year in the Texas Region announced today.
"She is probably one of the more decorated freshmen to come through Texas Tech," head coach Todd Petty said of Adams. She has had one of the best years in school history and I am glad she was able to be rewarded. She is very hard worker and someone we look forward to guiding our program in the years to come. "
Adams finished her first season at Tech with a 25-12 overall record and 7-4 in the Big 12. She earned her first All-Big 12 honor with her double partner Kelsy Garland. The duo went 7-4 in conference play and was 21-12 overall.
It is the first time a Texas Tech women's tennis player has been honored as Rookie of the Year by the ITA.
