LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head softball coach Shanon Hays will speak Friday at the national convention for the National Fastpitch Coaches Association held in Las Vegas.
Hays, whose presentation is focused on "Driving the Ball: Developing the College Hitter," will speak at noon (CT) at Bally's Event Center and Hotel.
In his two seasons at the helm of the Tech program, Hays has turned the Red Raiders into one of the top offensive teams in the country. Tech broke nine of the school's single-season offensive records in 2011 alone as the Red Raiders finished the year ranked fourth nationally in both batting average and total scoring.
The Lubbock native has won 70 percent of his games while at Tech thanks to an 80-34 record. Hays will begin the 2012 season six wins shy of the 200 career mark as he is 194-50 in four seasons as a collegiate softball coach after spending his first two years at Lubbock Christian University.
