Elizabeth Ullathorne in Finals at OU Invitational

LUBBOCK, TX - Sophomore Elizabeth Ullathorne advanced to Sunday's singles C finals after winning both singles matches on Saturday. In her opening match, Elizabeth lost the first set to UNT's Nadia Lee, 6-4, and then came back in the next two sets for the match win, 6-2, 6-1. In her semifinal match against Wichita State's Veronika Blaskova, Ullathorne won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. She will face Jade Frampton of Arkansas for the singles C championship.
In consolation play, freshman Samantha Adams began the day with a win over UTA's Natalia Mayuk, 6-7, 6-3, 6-4. Samantha dropped her second match to Delia Damaschin of Wichita State, 6-2, 6-4. On Sunday, Adams will meet SMU's Heather Steinbauer.
Senior Kelsy Garland lost her opening consolation match on Saturday to Irina Paraschiv of UNT, 6-4, 6-0. The veteran Lady Raider bounced back to win her second match over OU's Tara Eckel, 7-5, 6-2.
Nikki Sanders dropped her Saturday consolation singles match to OSU's Sasha Belova, 6-4, 7-5. Nikki was given a bye in her second singles match of the day and will oppose teammate Kelsy Garland in their only singles match on Sunday.
In Sunday's doubles matches, Elizabeth Ullathorne and Nikki Sanders will play their doubles B semifinals match again UNT's Nadia Lee and Amy Joubert. Kelsy Garland and Samantha Adams will meet OSU's Sardinha/Rose or Portland's Pflibsen/Hoath.
Tournament organizers scheduled four singles matches and three doubles matches for each player throughout the weekend. On Friday, each player had one singles match and two doubles matches. Each player had two singles matches on Saturday followed by one singles match and one doubles match on Sunday.
