Wruck Takes Bronze at World Junior Championships

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's Julian Wruck won the bronze medal in the discus for Australia at the IAAF World Junior Championships held in Moncton, Canada.
Wruck's throw of 200'-9" (61.09M) came on his second throw of the competition. Four of his six throws were over 60 meters. Wruck finished third to champion Andrius Gudzuis of Lithuania and Andrei Gag of Romania. Wruck's next competition will be the Commonwealth Games in October held in Delhi, India.
Shade Weygandt had a disappointing day as she finished tied for seventh. She cleared 12'-11.50" (3.95M) in the final but had the best qualifying mark going into the final at 13'-3.50" (4.05M).
