Tech Track Sending 33 to NCAA West Preliminary

LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 7 Red Raiders and No. 21 Lady Raiders track teams are sending a combined 33 student-athletes to the NCAA West Preliminary being held at the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, on Wed., May 26.
A total of 16 men and 17 women will be traveling to Austin next weekend as well as the men's 4x400M relay and women's 4x100M and 4x400M relay.
The list of men competitors is Bryce Brown (400M H), Rashad Hawk (100M, 200M), Jansen Hyde (110M H), Bryce Lamb (long jump, triple jump), Gilbert Limo (3K SC), Jamele Mason (400M H), Brett McDaniel (discus), Tyler Menges (shot put), Zach Plinario (400M H), Brian Porter (pole vault), Waylon Randolph (long jump), Darrell Roddick (high jump, triple jump), Boston Spiva (pole vault), Brandon Tucker (110M H), Latoy Williams (400M) and Julian Wruck (discus). The 4x400M relay also was on the list at No. 6 in the West Region.
The Lady Raiders group will consist of Erica Alexander (400M), Amanda Alley (pole vault), Purity Biwott (800M), Trudeann Clarke, (400M), Taylor Evans (400M), Terra Evans (100M, 200M), Katie Grimes (100M H), Sandra Iwunze (400M H), Candace Jackson (100M), Caroline Karunde (5000M), Winrose Karunde (3K SC), Gladys Kipsang (1500M), Kelsey Lloyd (100M H), Ifeatu Okafor (shot put), Ozie Okolie (discus, hammer throw) ,Tori Smith (100M H) and Shade Weygandt (pole vault). The women's 4x100M relay sits No. 8 and the 4x400M is currently No. 9 in the West Region.
A more detailed release will be out next week of the West Preliminary meet with rankings and student-athlete rankings in their various events. The student-athletes who advance out of the West Preliminary round will move on to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore on June 9-12.
