
Haley Fournier Wins Flight B Finals at UNM Invitational

LUBBOCK, TX - Texas Tech freshman Haley Fournier completed her last match of the fall campaign by winning the Flight B finals over Wyoming's Kim van Ginkel, 6-4, 7-5, at the University New Mexico Invitational in Albuquerque.
Also in Albuquerque, Lady Raider Nikki Sanders won the first set of her Flight C finals match against Sasa Nemcova but the Wyoming opponent came back to win the next two sets and claim the top spot, 2-6, 7-5, 6-2. Sophomore Caroline Starck beat Texas Tech teammate Elizabeth Ullathorne for third place in a Flight A match, 6-1, 1-6, 6-2.
At the HEB Baylor Invitational in Waco, Samantha Adams lost her bid to advance beyond the semifinals when she fell to the eventual singles champion, Karolina Filipiak of Baylor, 6-4, 7-5.
With these two invitational tournaments completed, the fall campaign for the Texas Tech women's tennis squad has come to a close. Non-conference play begins on January 29 with the team taking on Wichita State in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
