- Tonight's match was the final one in the United Spirit Arena for Tech's four seniors Barbara Conceicao, Caroline Courtney, Alexxa Roberts, and Jackie Vincent.
- Despite the loss, Tech still maintains a 20-13 all-time advantage over Iowa State.
- The Red Raiders have now won at least a set in five of their last six matches with four of those matches against schools either ranked in the top 25 nationally (Nebraska, Texas, Iowa State) or receiving votes (Missouri).
- Amanda Dowdy moved into sole possession of sixth place on the Tech career kills chart as her 13 kills tonight gives her 1,027 over her career. Dowdy entered the match tied with Sabrina Zenon (1998-91) and now trails Lisa Clark (1987-90) by 12 kills entering Saturday's season finale at Baylor.
- Barbara Conceicao's 10 blocks in the match fall two shy of her career high 12 last year against Stephen F. Austin. The senior from Rio de Janiero, Brazil recorded eight blocks earlier this year against Texas State in her previous high for the season.
- Miara Cave's seven blocks surpassed her previous high of five that was most recently matched last weekend in Tech's win at Colorado. Cave has recorded 30 kills in Tech's last three matches.
- Jackie Vincent finished with at least 20 digs for the second-straight match as the senior came close to matching her career high of 21 that was set last weekend at Colorado.
