LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's doubles tandem of Gonzalo Escobar and Andre Stabile lost in the finals of the A doubles draw at the Baylor Intercollegiate today.
Escobar and Stabile, who played a great doubles tournament, fell to No. 25 Maros Horny and Jordan Rux (Baylor), 8-3. The match was a lot closer than the score, as Tech had five-straight games with game point.
"We played pretty well," said head coach Tim Siegel. "We had five games in a row with game point so the match was closer than the score. I am very proud of the way they played all weekend, and I'm looking forward to seeing them play the rest of the fall."
Tech will not have any tournaments until the ITA All-American Championships in which Raony Carvalho will be competing in the singles main draw Oct. 8-11, in Tulsa, Okla.
